Day 13 Thursday April 2nd 2020

Although the rate of deaths in the UK has slowed from over 31 per cent to 24 per cent, the UK’s rate is higher than Italy’s, Spain’s and France’s at similar stages in the outbreak. The government has also unveiled a five-point coronavirus action plan in a bid to achieve 100,000 COVID-19 tests per day by the end of April….. and who did this? Matt Hancock. Nice to see him back but I reckon he still looked a bit peaky! Can’t wait for Chris Whitty to return. He’s such a wise dude!

Millen was up in the night with an irritating rash so he ended up with us last night. Arushi and Eashan both went to sleep uber late, and Matt still wasn’t feeling well. So this basically equated to me being the only one awake in the house till about 10am! Well Luna too actually.

Walking on the common!

I also heard that Jo was going to be on BBC news today. Wow- check this out!

Well done Jo!

The lonely morning meant I cut an even lonelier figure doing Joe Wicks all by myself! But it was a good session again.

The rest of the morning was spent getting the kids moving , sorting out skiing refunds ( boo- realisation that we were due to actually be going the day after tomorrow) and general boring admin. As usual it was lunch time before we knew it and Matt, having rested all morning, made some yummy beetroot and feta samosas with Arushi! Very posh!

The afternoon was all a bit bizarre. Got a phone call from school- basically I’m being furloughed over the Easter hols and the first week of the summer term and then we will catch up after that…no major surprise and means the trust is better off financially – not sure how I feel as really don’t like the idea of not working but I guess at the mo it’s only for 3 weeks and 2 weeks of that is Easter. Anyway let’s see what happens.

Today’s art therapy- aliens!

I persuaded the children to go on a run as their lethargy was simply annoying me and they needed to some exercise desperately.

So wonderful to literally see the children’s moods lift from some exercise. It’s so amazing to see the huge positive effect of getting the heart pumping! So important especially in this strange world!

We had an early supper to have time for a game with Miss Amy and Matt! That was fun but cut short due to us wanting to watch the Nat Theatre’s free streaming of One Man Two Governors! It’s all go-go these nights!

Miss Amy and Matt

Matt and I were lucky enough to see this play in real life… it was hilarious!

All set up in the kitchen for a night at the theatre
We paused the play for the NHS Applause. Lovely and such a celebration!
Not sure Arushi was as much of a fan of the play but the boys LOVED it!

The evening was rounded off with a chat with Nursery Nutters which was lovely!

Positive Thought : National Theatre streamlining treasures and then the joy seeing your children enjoy it… “Look it’s Smithy from Gavin and Stacey”
