Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said people had a “civic duty” to avoid public transport if at all possible during the coronavirus crisis. He said the lockdown had been used to carry out a range of maintenance projects on the road and rail networks, and set out plans for nearly £2 billion of extra spending. Today, the UK coronavirus death toll has reached 33,614 after another 428 people died of the disease.
With our usually morning rituals, school and work, we all hunkered down to get on with stuff. For RE Millen had to be filmed talking about a personal story that related to the 4 noble truths in Buddhism-
- The truth of suffering (dukkha)
- The truth of the cause of suffering (samudaya)
- The truth of the end of suffering (nirhodha)
- The truth of the path that frees us from suffering (magga)
Anyway apparently the RE teacher, who was Aussie, had interpreted her personal 4 nobles truths to “her cancellation of her trip back home over Easter to visit her family and friends and meet her newly born niece (etc…)” Millen thought of this and recorded the below- so sweet I thought! Also rather dramatic too!!!!
I used my lunchtime to make a Victoria sponge. Truth is I planned to do this for VE 75th anniversary last weekend but didn’t quite get round to it! Anyway I was a bit gobsmacked by the rise of this cake…. even go as far to say as impressed!

The afternoon was spent doing creative stuff!

Since the easing of some of the lockdown rules, Matty took the opportunity to cycle with Matt G to Biggin Hill.

I took the less active approach to the loosening of the lockdown and went for a walk ( socially distanced still) with some Swathee, Jannike and Anna. Lovely to see them and feel normality is returning …. albeit slowly!
Positive Thought: shallow one today ..: but my cake actually looked like the picture… not sure that has ever happened before!
