Wow so my birthday has finally arrived…. a day I genuinely believe my children have been way more excited than I have! So sweet … and also such a clear reminder of how brilliant birthdays are when you’re younger. I’ve always loved celebrating my birthday though… so long may it continue!
Anyway I digress…. I was given a lovely lie in and then awoke to these three grinning faces with a purple themed tray- a flower handpicked from the garden and a rather grim looking smoothie ( but fear not… it tasted divine)

After showering I headed down to the most delicious waft of baking and this gorgeous scene!

We then opened all my cards and presents and literally I can’t even begin to say how spoilt I was!

I’m obvs not going to list all the special cards and presents I received as I was truly humbled by so many people remembering and making my bday really phenomenal! But I just want to and have to add a couple of vids of bday messages that blew me out of the park!
Matty has taken the day off so we had decided to head for Frensham ponds to do some swimming … apparently there is a beach there!
We had an enjoyable journey listening to Harry Potter. All three of my kids have resisted Harry Potter forever… which is fair enough if they’ve read some of them… but only arushi has, and I’m not sure you can just write off series of books that you’ve actually never read if the rest of the country literally devours every word J K Rowling says… anyway surprisingly fun listening to a story that we are all absorbed in… I wasn’t a huge fan before but not having listened to the first story and seeing how captivated the children are have made me realise it’s ok.
Frensham did turn out to be pretty packed but we managed to avoid the rather ghastly looking beach and secure our own little secluded fishing bay… if could not have been more perfect!! We waded in and had a little swim… and when I say we… I mean the 5 of us and Luna!

We headed for a drive and then a walk to the little pond as we were curious to see it.

The little pond was SO much nicer again, it was a bit of a hike from where we parked but dogs were allowed on the beach and it was just so much quieter. We didn’t have much time here as we had to get back home but it was a brilliant place to swim/ row/ paddle around so we will deffo be back!

We had to drag ourselves away to get home in time for a bday drink on the common.

As an impromptu thought popped into my head last night about having a bday drink- I texted a handful of people for a quick celebratory drink…

What an absolutely stonkingly awesome day – considering it was lock down there is something very humbling about the simple acts of kindness!
Positive note: of course all the kindness my kids, family and friends have shown! I definitely think this birthday goes in my top 5!!
