Number of people in UK who died with coronavirus jumps by more than 100 in a day for first time
So Matty didn’t feel great in the night so has called in sick. I took his Temperature – I’m deffo no Florence Nightingale. I thought you shoved the thermometer in your ear but apparently this one , you do on your forehead… then I realised I wasn’t really sure what a fever is actually classed as anyway … according to Google it’s over 38 degrees so he’s ok!
So Luna woke around 6 like normal but this morning I had the lovely company of Millen on our morning walk . The Common is still surprisingly busy but everyone does appear to be giving each other wide berths.

We tried to be really organised this morning but we didn’t get back from walking Luna till about 745 and then I decided to experiment between milk based and water based porridge( because that has been on my wonder list for a while… so why not deal with it now.. so did) so by the time we were ready to do our yoga it was time for the kids to start school so we all scrabbled through the day with a mix of normal school stuff and some online chess, baking, music with Myleene Klass, Pe with Joe Wicks and a fair amount of house party! ( oh and by the way…,. Water based porridge with milk stirred in at the end won for me as then means I don’t need to deal with a scalded pan and still tastes creamy)
Arushi and I did a baking session- Seeing our champion bread maker was in bed I felt I had to fill his baking boots so aimed high with ciabatta to begin with. It needs proving 4 times…. you’ve got to have the patience of a saint to be a great bread maker… we made amaretto biscuits too so that basically took up most of my day! The amaretto biscuits were easy- just the ciabatta was time consuming…. Made me appreciate Matt even more and his continual bread making even more. In fact in our bread bin at the mo ( and hopefully this does not sound boastful as this won’t be sent out publically) but there’s 4 different types of homemade breads as Matt has been making one easy day- potato bread, sour dough, some white one and now our Italian addition. It wasn’t too bad either – that’s the amazing thing. I can see how it becomes addictive. We did it following a live video/ that was stresssful as we can’t keep up with the pace of the professional baker- no surprise there so deffo missed out some tips and possibly even steps!😱

Very complimentary over them!

Notice even more flaws but it’s all about the taste and that apparently was good ( can’t wait for my taste to return!!!)
After all that baking I still hadn’t started on dinner so decided to dial and cook which was nice- kids were all chatting to their friends on devices so if you can’t beat them… join them.
Cooked my fig and chicken curry and green bean masala from Meera Sodha’s cook book….. such a great good book – not sure it’s taste is Uber Indian as very different style to what I know but yum none the less… and that was made whilst chatting to Martin and also the Hoopers who are back after being flown home by the British Embassy – so relieved they are home and was lovely to see them!
Also love this summary from the cook book – so very true!

We have a road What’s app grouo chat now too, so lovely to really feel the community spirit!
Positive Note: NHS Shout out!
