Day 2 Sunday March 22nd 2020

Boris’s main message “If people can’t make use of parks and playgrounds responsibly, in a way that observes the 2-metre rule, then of course we’re going to have to look at further measures. …. I interpret that as we are absolutely screwed and we won’t be allowed out in a bigger group than 2.

He also said An estimated 1.5m Britons have been sent letters by the government telling them to not go outside for the next 12 weeks to protect themselves from coronavirus…. guessing mum and dad are on that list then .

The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 increased to 5,018 yesterday, while deaths rose to to 233 – an increase of 53 people in 24 hours….. ok that’s the depressing news over with… let’s move to more positive things!

So today was Mother’s Day! Wow I was not expecting anything, forget about anyone even remembering – but I was treated like a queen! Smoothie in bed,a plethora of wonderful home made cards and some seriously spoiling presents…. if that wasn’t enough a yummy brekkie of poached eggs and smashed avo on Matt’s bread and supper was a rather fabulous pav bhaji. Wow! I’m salivating now just thinking about it all! Oh and Eashan decided to wear his smartest clothes as it was a special day apparently so that meant a jacket, tie and a pocket watch!!!

The reason I’ve talked about supper already is the day was pretty low key- it hit us that tomorrow it was going to be all a bit crazy with everyone trying to work. So we spent most of the day clearing up parts of the house and creating work stations for us all. We attempted a schedule too as we needed some sort of time table for tomorrow…. whether we will stick to it is another matter but it was definitely some sort of comfort knowing we had attempted some sort of structure to our day.

Check out this amazing array of gifts and cards

So as you can see amazing and super thoughtful gifts and cards! Such a huge thank you…. which brings me to my grateful tip quite nicely!!

Positive thought – My gorgeous kids and husband- they really didn’t need to make any effort but they really did -in terms of cuddles, kisses ( hope that’s ok… we live in the same house), cards, gifts, cooking, cups of tea making! I’m bloody lucky! Thank you
