Day 20 Thursday April 9th 2020

Dominic Raab has said the UK is “not done yet” and “must keep going” with the coronavirus lockdown, as he urged Brits to stay home this Easter to curb the spread of Covid-19. Boris is out of intensive care but still in hospital… ooh and guess what figures are still higher than ever.

Arushi very kindly came up to our room this morning as I was brushing my teeth saying she’d take Luna out. I fully intended to go with her but found myself collapsing back into bed fully grateful for my gorgeous 12 year old. Thank you Arushi x

I woke about 7.30 and headed straight down to get on with some orange therapy. Arushi joined me on her return and Millen halfway through. Whilst Matt is better he is still recovering. I have never known him since getting married to do no exercise like this… he was so looking forward to all the training he was going to do in lockdown … hopefully he will back up to it soon!

The children had a great idea to start touch typing today. I joined them. Wow it is TRICKY.

I need a LOT of practise!

Millen and I headed to the supermarket .. the queue was so much longer than I’ve seen it before, but I think it’s down to the fact tomorrow is Good Friday so shops are shut.

After lunch we headed off on bikes with cameras too as the children were super keen to take some snaps- we stopped briefly at Dee’s to give her my collapsed birthday cake and card and present- we intended to just go to Battersea park but as it was so empty on the roads it hardly took us anytime to get there. In fact with the beautiful day, the park was busier than the roads so we decided to head over the bridge and see where we ended up, which happened to be Hyde Park.

Can you guess? I’ve never seen this place so quiet … I’ve seen it not functioning like today but then there’s still hordes of people always milling around- look at this place!! Diana’s memorial…. empty.
Figuring out where the nearest water fountain was!
Admiring the view ( and taken by A or was it M?)
I can deduce accurately that this one was taken by Millen!

Mary Jo knocked on our door today just for a social distancing chat – that was nice! So lovely to have a chat with your friends. Simple pleasures!

We came home to do a scavenger hunt with Jasper and Monty. It was great fun. Innovative and Interesting!

There was so many things for them to find … well I thought it was a cunning plan… they’d take ages to find meaning Ali and I could then chat…. but not quite. 20 mins of lots of running and laughing though!

One of the items on the list was to take a photo of your team in the bath!

Matty was so pleased to see his compost had arrived enabling him to start planting!

A little bit of art therapy in the afternoon for some of us.

After some roast chicken we collapsed in front of the National Theatre’s showing of Jane Eyre. Being such a huge fan of Sally Cookson and having been fortunate enough to have seen this production live, I was amazed that the rest of the family were as excited to watch it with me….. but they did!

Snuggling down to the theatre
NHS and public workers shout out again… this time with Eashan a la trumpet

And then we returned to Jane Eyre… all 3 hours of it!

Positive Thought: I am in absolute awe that the children watched all of Jane Eyre. They needed a little help with some of the plot (me too always) but I was so enthused by their appetite for the story – it was such a great production and such a joy to see the children and Matt just enjoy it so much! Thank you!
