Boris Johnson has been admitted to hospital for tests, 10 days after testing positive for coronavirus, Downing Street has said. He was taken to a London hospital on Sunday evening with “persistent symptoms” – including a temperature. They are saying it’s all precautionary but still worrying!
The big news is the Queen made a speech! It is only the fifth time the monarch has given such a speech in her 68-year reign. While her Christmas Day message is an annual event, only rarely has the Queen made rallying speeches at key moments in the life of the nation:
- A televised speech to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee in June 2012
- A special address to the nation on the eve of her mother’s funeral in April 2002
- A live broadcast on the eve of the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales, in September 1997
- And a statement at the beginning of the land war in Iraq on 24 February 1991
Interesting eh? Anyway the speech was a rallying one saying we would succeed against this virus. Let’s hope so Queenie!
Arushi and I went for a beautiful dawn walk. It’s due to be 18 degrees today so no doubt will be Uber busy later and we will question whether the whole country has heard of the whole social distancing!!

Anyway gorgeous walk. Chatting to lots of friends – some old and some new… including Ben who kindly brought along some puppy biscuits and wet food for Luna to try. How kind is that?
We came home to a little bit of phone time! What a treat for a Sunday! Arushi shared this typical gorgeous message with me from Mum!

I set a treasure hunt for the children this morning. Typically it took ages to make but then the kids did it in a tenth of the time but they loved it so it was so worth it!

It was such a beautiful day today, but we heard that Brockwell Park has shut as too many people taking advantage of the good weather so just hanging out at home as 2 of us have been out for our hour already.
Not move for about an hour! I’ve never seen him so still… well until Luna came along!

After lunch we had a few chats with people which was nice and then played a few sports games and even for the badminton net out… we had to be focussed with the rallies as Luna seemed to have an appetite for shuttlecocks.
Millen absolutely adores playing games with his friends and I’m quite strict with it. I just don’t get the whole computer game thing…. but it’s funny listening to it!

For the evening it was just us for a change so we had a family game classic- haven’t resurrected this one for a while but it‘s still a classic with a lot of laughter!

So we rounded off the family evening with some TV and watched an episode of Round the World… it gave me such a hankering to travel to South America…. Familyof5visitTravelroundSAmerica blog could work too!!

Then finally a heartwarming catch up with these gorgeous girls! Perfect end to a sunny day !
Positive Thought: despite it being a gorgeous day we didn’t want to abuse the hour in public spaces regulations so used our little garden instead and that was brilliant. We are very lucky to have a garden and it kept us all amused for hours today.
