I can’t get enough of this story so feel it’s worth writing it all in the blog. Bear with me please. A nurse filmed herself confronting a group of “absolute idiots” lounging around drinking beer in a park behind her home.
The NHS worker faced down the six young men after she spotted them defying social distancing measures as they soaked up the sunshine on a patch of grass in Basingstoke, Hampshire.
The group can be seen sitting drinking and smoking with their bikes lying beside them in video footage posted on Facebook by a woman named Louise Ann.
She can be heard telling them she works for the NHS, adding: “My husband is not getting paid, I have to go in and do overtime all the time. I’ve got two kids in there.”
One of the youngsters tells her “well don’t stand near us then innit”, but she carries on scolding them, saying: “I have to go to work every day fearing I’m going to bring it home to my family because of people like you. You are absolute idiots.”
Another member of the group then tells her: “Stop f****** recording me now.”
But again she continues unfazed, responding: “No, if you’re going to be stupid then I’ll show the world how stupid you are.
“Why you think you’re better than everyone else, I’ve got no idea.”
As the friends begin picking up their bags and cycling off, she shouts: “That’s it, jog on.”
As the final member of the group hangs around, she tells him: “I’ll quite happily stay here until the police get here.”
The video has been shared on Facebook 15,000 times since the nurse posted it on Friday.
Health secretary Matt Hancock has urged people to stay at home this Easter weekend amid the coronavirus crisis as temperatures are expected to reach 26C.
It’s all a good point and something I really empathise with and I don’t risk my life going into a hospital each day. Today on the way back from the park I saw 6 young adults walking all next to each other across the whole width of the road giving none of us any space to pass and then they were just chucking a ball to each other too. I felt incensed- how could they be so unaware of the rules???? Anyway rant over but this nurse – good on her! Well done and thank you for everything you’re doing!
With my cup of tea and Luna for company pre walk I looked into my NHS responder app a bit more. I was accepted onto the Good Sam programme finally so kept checking for any alerts – making sure my phone was on, sound was up etc as after 5 hours I had heard nothing! However having trawled twitter this morning it appears I might be waiting quite a while.

On my walk with Luna this morning I saw this lovely generous act of kindness.

Following a quick shop (3rd supermarket attempt as queues were ridiculous and we just needed some milk) I headed home to go for a bike ride for our hour of exercise and vitamin D. We didn’t think we’d be too adventurous today and desperately wanted to see how Luna would take to a bike ride! Crazy?

More hair raising down busy roads.
We cycled along the river to Putney. It was actually worse for Matt when Luna could see or hear the rest of us so he headed back home before us and said the way back was fine so clearly that’s what we will need to do in future if we go out with her again.. ever!

We had a bit of artistic fun when we got home as we’d ordered some illustrator pens… I know check us out! We did some Rob Bidulph with Nani, and then Arushi did her own bookmark too!

Tonight was the night for camping! Our bell tell us too big for the garden so we fortunately ( or unfortunately … depending on your view) borrowed a pop up tent from Susan and Hughie. Excitement levels were high!

Supper has been cooked tonight by Matt with Arushi. A Greek delectable Affair of flat breads , gyros and tzatziki …. yum! Ooh with a bit of dancing thrown in!

Getting closer and closer to bed time! The dog is going crazy for it!

So s’mores were roasted/ toasted/ burnt on the bbq rather than the fire – it still warranted the happy dance!
A few games happened in the evening after that – demands for water, duvet and wine eventually diminished into snores….. for some of us! Earplugs for the rest of us!
Positive Thought: simple today- thank goodness it didn’t rain!
