So a very leisurely wake up today and the dawning that today was sadly the last day of the half term break… boo! So we headed off to Shalford after Carolina’s recommendation of somewhere not too far away where we could try wild swimming again!
Wow it was amazing! A gorgeous picnic lunch on a very empty green so we could then dump the rather cumbersome and heavy cool box back into the car before trotting off in our swimmers to find the river.
So naturally Matt was the first one properly in… none of this dipping your toe in and being all pathetic about how freezing your foot felt in… he went in completely Matty style… all brave and always the gorgeous hero he is jumped in !
So not wanting to be shown up by the children I had to face the initial shock factor and just get on with it and it was lovely!!! Everyone had a swim – even Eashan! It was fab!
It was a great day and a bbq followed at home with some table tennis and then just a feeling of the blues for me… back to work and school tomorrow. I know I can hardly complain when it’s only half a term to go till the summer but somehow with inset tomorrow and years R,1 and 6 coming in this week – I just think it’s going to be tough!
Positive Note- swimming in the river Wey of course! Simply gorgeous and all 6 of us properly swam! And Also I promised myself a digital detox over half term as work is all screen, lots of relaxation might involve a screen and even socialising involves a screen… it’s been great( apart from trying to catch up with the whole week’s blog in this long arduous way… but yay to digital detox
