Day 21 (Good) Friday April 10th 2020

The number of hospital patients who have died in the UK after testing positive for coronavirus has risen by 980 to a total of 8,958, Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said.

It comes as the highest daily death toll rise in the UK so far and pushes the total number fatalities to almost 9,000 – up from 7,978 on Thursday.

Mr Hancock also said 19,116 coronavirus tests were carried out across Great Britain on Thursday, of which 5,706 came back positive.

The total number of people who have tested positive for Covid-19 since the outbreak in the UK is 73,758.

I slept badly last night for some unknown reason so I quite welcomed Luna’s barking are 6.30am this morning. I knew I was going to have a leisurely start to the day so didn’t get into gym gear but instead had a cup of tea and then the pleasure of Arushi’s company! Delightful.

We decided we would drop some various things off at friends houses as it’s always harder doing it later so my way of placating my guilt for not doing some serious exercise was an extra long walk. It was such a beautiful day and my favourite of all…. empty!

We returned home after a 6k walk feeling hungry and ready for brekkie. Today I was 100% determined that we would get the pictures up in the den. I really don’t enjoy putting photos and pictures up- well definitely photos. Firstly in this strange time it’s frustrating just half finishing jobs as we run out of supplies and we can’t just skip out to buy more. Secondly putting up photos isn’t that joyous any more- have we got enough frames? Does that frame even fit? Is that too heavy to be hung up? But the worst for me is the fact I feel bad for just framing some pictures- I want lots of photos up but then know I won’t have pics of all our different friends and family so it feels a bit unbiased and secondly (the worst one …) is when I realise I have so many more photos of Arushi compared to Millen compared to poor Eashan! Then I feel wracked with guilt and end up putting some lousy photos up just to balance the books a bit. No joy to this picture framing lark! But anyway we are going to do it!!

3 hours later…. still doing it… not a single picture up but printing of photos…. but guess what, we’ve run out of ink!

It got to a point where I could tell
I was just annoying Matt with my unhelpful comments so I baked a coffee cake instead as the children claimed they had not had cake on days… the poor darlings!
Devouring the bowl
Arushi enjoyed a quiz with 30
Of her school friends

Lovely to get a surprise knock on the door again from Shyam and kids with some gorgeous Easter cards and a wonderful ‘quietude’ candle that smelt heavenly. So kind and can’t wait to use it!

Ta- da the photos are up in the den finally! Not all the pics we wanted but a good start as we can swap! It also looks way better in real life ( and straighter!)

The boys and I had a quick walk in the early evening and we had supper and then had a cocktail night with some friends planned but I completely forgot and instead watched Jonathan Creek with the family… omg talk about rock and roll!

Positive Thought: Those bloody pictures are up!!! (forget about being wonky or wrong pics ….) they are up!
