Day 7 Friday 27th March 2020

So the biggest news today is BOJO has tested positively for the Covid 19 virus. … it was only a matter of time. The UK has recorded it largest leap in a single day of deaths from coronavirus, from 578 to 759 with 11,658 confirmed. It’s not just retired NHS staff who are heading back to work. The Met has now called for PCs and sergeants who left the force in the past five years to return to a paid or voluntary role.

So today I made porridge again and made a big portion for Matty who was still in bed but he didn’t even touch it! Oh no … not a good sign!

Current favourite porridge topping – banana, desiccated coconut, swirl of almond butter and toasted almonds.

The rest of the day was a bit of a blur really…. Worrying about Matt and trying to get the kids to do their work whilst also trying to do mine and cook and clean and wiping up a huge amount of wees fromLuna. It was painful! This potty training is not going to plan!

Innovative learning… Arushi being Lady Macbeth

Today is a bit of a short blog entry I am afraid. It suddenly hit me that tomorrow is my father in law’s birthday- it’s crazy – it’s like being on holiday and not aware of dates or times and I am normally quite on top of this sort of stuff. So we quickly made some cards for John… it was around 430pm by the time we had perfected our messages and cards for him and then realised I hadn’t got any A5 envelopes. This is where the amazing community comes to play again- I sent a pledge for envelopes on our road’s what app and within 30 seconds I had some delivered through our front door thanks to lovely Lindy!

We went off for a walk and to post the cards – the children took the tennis rackets out with them so a new bit of physical exercise for us all… well not me actually as I just kept onto Luna… at this time of day you can’t leave her off the lead as she definitely does not understand social distancing! And when you see people walking with rubber gloves on , you don’t want to aggravate them with our puppy jumping up on them.

When we headed home we were expecting a delivery from Arushi’s music teacher- she’s starting the …. drum roll please…: the double bass! It’s bloody massive and weighs a ton! Her teacher seems so enthusiastic about Arushi’s one and only lesson so far that she had already put her down to do grade 2 this summer!😂

We spent the evening with Uncle Martin doing the London quiz hosted by the Evening standard – it was fun !

Positive Thought- Community Spirit is amazing! With no stationery shops open thank goodness for our A5 envelope fairy!
