The news at the moment (quite rightly so) is all about George Floyd and the protests for Blacklivesmatter. It’s moving to see the public stance on it… and we are all accountable… let’s just hope it’s not just going to pitter out and actually there are some seismic changes into abolishing racism for good… why is it even happening?
Getting a little concerned that the blog is getting thinner and thinner at the mo but with work piling on we aren’t doing as much fun stuff but I promised this would be a blog for lockdown so need to continue but it might just be a little shorter than normal!
However having said all of that, things were a little different today… I had some company in my Orange Theory workout in the form of Millen today and that was wonderful. He’s way better than burpees than me ( not hard… even Luna would be better at Burpees than me… ) but great to work out with him this morning.
At lunchtime our lovely cleaner came meaning we had to play musical rooms to give her a wide berth … so I welcomed a message from Emma asking us to meet them on the common for a picnic. The weather has deffo got colder so the common is way quieter! Also very weird seeing the year 6s playing their sport on the common from Dolphin… there is NO social distancing going on there! But anyway … really lovely to break up the day and go outside at lunchtime… yes the children normally go out into the garden at lunchtime anyway, but actually going to the common and having a scramble around with friends and allowing me to have a catch up too was indeed a great tonic!

After this little lovely lunch break Eashan and I headed to Belleville to pick up him maths books from the playground. Lovely to see some of the TAs and hear how they are doing and just seen their enthusiasm to get back into school. We also stopped for a take out coffee and some treats for the family on the way… that’s my first take out coffee in at least 76 days and wow that felt like a luxury … which actually it is and was a great treat.
After some more afternoon work, I then met Lea for a SD walk which was nice- also one where again you appreciate living in a community …. bumping into lots of gorgeous faces such as old work colleagues to parents of kids friends to little kids too… just so lovely!
The evening was rounded off with a JAGS PTA meeting and then sadly watching the very last episode of my fave TV programme Grayson’s art club.
Positive Note: getting out simply lifts your mood, even though you’re absorbed with work etc … fresh air and a walk makes such a difference
