So yet again work is simply dominating my day. Not long till the end of term of deffo a silver lining, but I don’t want to wish time away.
Rather excitingly… I got my hair dyed today!!! Louise came over and did it in the garden! Oh wow! I can’t tell you the difference it has made. My hair literally looks 20 years younger. She was telling me how lots of her clients have decided they quite like the grey and embracing it… err not me! Wish I could be that cool but deffo not me!
I was settling in for another evening of marking being broken up by a quick walk with Lea when I got a text from Her saying that Louise had lost her job. 23 years working for Virgin and her love for the job all literally crashing around her and I needed to go round there straight away. Horrible! And this is the startling factor – people are going to be losing their jobs . I didn’t know what to say… so I took wine !
Lovely to see Holly and Daisy and their amazing cardboard box creations- check out the pug house complete with outside shelf which was adorned with a pot plant and sunglasses before they fell off … very stylish !
We moved onto the common to meet some of the others…once again lovely to see everyone despite the crappy reason why. Lou will turn this around- she’s already talking about sorting out the Lady Allen playground and she WILL and we chatted about working in the travel and disability world so need to put her in touch with Ali. Its just so raw. A courier was coming round tomorrow to get her uniform, pass and laptop. One more year of working there and she’d get free flights for life for her and the family! What a f*****!
Positive Note: Friends are SO important as we all have crap coming and going!
